Biographical Information
Divitta M. Alexander is managing member of Divitta Alexander PLLC, a solo law practice located in Buffalo, New York. Her practice focuses on commercial real estate and community development law, with a concentration in affordable and mixed-income housing transactions, as well as other complex real estate development transactions.
Ms. Alexander has well over a decade of experience practicing law in the state of New York and has represented for-profit and not-for-profit developers, public and private lenders, grantors and investors on projects involving tax-advantaged financing, conventional and governmental construction and permanent loans, investor equity, governmental subsidies, and real property and other tax exemptions. Additionally, she assists for-profit and not-for-profit real estate developers, community organizations and others with preparing and submitting applications for community development project financing.
Ms. Alexander routinely reviews and negotiates a wide range of contracts on behalf of businesses from real estate finance agreements, joint venture and developer agreements, to physician employment agreements and publishing agreements, among others. She has significant experience negotiating commercial leases and licenses (i.e. retail, office space, telecom, parking, office sharing, etc.), and counsels small businesses on a broad array of issues including entity formation and other transactional arrangements. She also assists businesses with preparing proposals in response to RFPs.
